After a disastrous first start in Springfield (4 IP, 7H, 7ER, 4 BB, 6K), Joe Kelly rebounded nicely in his second start with an 8 inning effort where he allowed 2 runs, walked 2 and struck out 6. He’ll make his second home start tonight against Tulsa. If you’re planning on visiting Springfield for games, it looks like the rotation order currently sits at Shelby Miller, Joe Kelly and John Gast, which would make for a great weekend visit (Sat – Mon) at the end of this month (30th, 31st, 1st).

Excellent info, thanks Az. I’m looking forward to getting to see these guys firsthand.

I always look forward to the yearly trip down to Hammons Field.

QC managed to lose that game after scoring 15 runs.

As it stands I’m planning on going next Saturday to see Miller. Would love to stick around on Sunday for Kelly but that would be pushing it a bit far with the wife.

Perhaps Blair should be demoted to the GCL and spend some time with PB coach Martinez. He doesn’t seem to be improving at all in current environment.

Does Blair have any trade value left at this point?? Wouldn’t mind seeing him in a package for Bell (yes, I know he would have to be a PTBNL). Overall, I would say our 2009 and 2010 drafts were outstanding and I’m starting to love the Wong pick more and more, but of our top few round picks the last three years, Blair has to be the biggest disappointment so far.
