milb.com says Manness and Daughtery for Batavia.

We have potentially 3 starters in our 2014 rotation going tonight. By that time, Miller will be our #1 or #2 depending on Jaime’s progression. Jenkins could be our #4 and Rosenthal could be either our #5 or our set-up guy.

2014 may be a little aggressive for Jenkins, but it is certainly possible. I see Rosenthal as a 200 innings guy with an ERA around 3.00. If that is our #5, then SWEET!!

      • Karmaloop says:

Yeah, Jenkins is 2015 IMO. I think it’s more likely that Martinez is in the rotation in 2014 than Jenkins is.

I agree. Plus, there’s always the possibility that a few of these guys will blow up on their way to the majors. Jenkins is a raw, long-term project with a low-floor, high-ceiling future. It’s very possible that he never makes it.

The only guy I would tab as a sure thing as a rotation starter is Miller. And now I’ve probably jinxed him.

I was just saying of all the guys throwing tonight. Obviously Martinez is as good as a bet to be in the 2014 rotation as anybody not named Miller, Garcia, and possibly Wainwright.

We have a very good problem brewing in our system with all the high upside starting pitchers building.

Surely a couple of these will pan out:
            Miller
            Martinez
            Rosenthal
            Jenkins
            Swagerty
            Kelly
            Blair
            Cleto
            Lynn

Now I know there are other starting pitching prospects that have a chance to contribute (Gast) but I just listed the ones that I feel have #2 starter potential or better.
