Obviously Martinez is as good as a bet to be in the 2014 rotation as anybody not named Miller, Garcia, and possibly Wainwright.

We have a very good problem brewing in our system with all the high upside starting pitchers building.

Surely a couple of these will pan out:
Miller
Martinez
Rosenthal
Jenkins
Swagerty
Kelly
Blair
Cleto
Lynn

Now I know there are other starting pitching prospects that have a chance to contribute (Gast) but I just listed the ones that I feel have #2 starter potential or better.

Plus, there’s always the possibility that a few of these guys will blow up on their way to the majors. Jenkins is a raw, long-term project with a low-floor, high-ceiling future. It’s very possible that he never makes it.

The only guy I would tab as a sure thing as a rotation starter is Miller. And now I’ve probably jinxed him.

I think it’s more likely that Martinez is in the rotation in 2014 than Jenkins is.
