Still, a Trout comparison for Taveras is interesting enough. I’d want to see the way he plays, not just the numbers he puts up, but this guy should be getting some serious attention.

Unfortunatly, i don’t think those contracts are disclosed.

Media accounts for more than just tv.

Internet, Radio, Satalite Radio, MLB extra innings, Independant contracts with the satalite networks inaddition to The national contracts for Fox, WS, and all star game plus local tv contracts.

I put ticket sales at around $100 million. The problem with ticket sales though is its not bankable. A bad season, and it dropps. A couple of bad seasons and its really low.

No he doesn’t – he’s terrible at making contact, which is pretty much the most important tool for any hitter IMO.

I think he has the capabilities to be a decent MLB player and kinda hope he gets a chance, but I think a K-rate of 20%+ and a likely MLB batting average <.250 means he's not really got an "elite" ceiling IMO. Plus, he's actually of an age where you'll start to expect him to be getting WORSE, not better, pretty soon.

I actually thought (and still think) the DeRosa trade was fine. Perez and Todd basically haven’t amounted to anything.

All that said, this “The book has yet to be written on rasmus, but you want to consider rasmus a success in the majors…Prime example of not being able to use facts to back your case.” is simply wrong. rasmus has been an above-average center fielder in his career SO FAR. He may not reach his potential, but he’s already been a “success”.

Brendan Ryan is far, far better than Theriot (and likely Izturis also) and we basically swapped the two, gained Cleto, and ended up paying more money for the privilege.

You got some sort of link for that? I’m fairly sure that’s incorrect. Assuming 76 home games a year, with 45,000-ish coming to each game, even if each fan only spends $50 in total each game (incl. tickets, concessions etc, which is probably an under-estimate I’d have thought), that comes to >$170m per year in attendance revenue. I find it hard to believe the media contracts are worth that much.
