Boone Whiting looks to bounce back from his shortest start in Quad Cities last week where he exited after allowing 3 runs in 5 innings. He’d strung together 9 consecutive quality starts prior to that. Whiting has failed to make it out of the 6th inning just three times in Quad Cities. His first two starts and his most recent start.

I’ve been keeping an eye on both Rahmatulla and Apelian this summer down there. Will be interesting to see if they can maintain momentum as they ascend to higher levels. Reading of Rahmatulla’s injury history at UCLA reminded me of the David Freese odyessy. Here’s hoping that’s done with. I like the offense I’ve seen from these two. Hope it continues against higher caliber pitching.
