It was a relatively quiet night on the farm as they went 2-3 on the night. It’s hard for me to fathom that Oscar Taveras actually went hitless on the night. Quad Cities was rained out.
- Mark Hamilton had a double as his sole hit in 4 at-bats
- Tyler Greene went 1-3 with a double and walk
- Shane Robinson and Nick Punto, beginning a rehab assignment, both walked once
- Matt Carpenter went hitless in 4 at-bats and committed his 16th error
- Maikel Cleto remained wild in his stay in the Pacific Coast League as he walked 4 batters in 4 innings and gave up 7 runs (6 earned) off of 7 hits (1 homer) in 4 innings. He struck out 5 and hit a batter
- Donovan Solano went 3-4 with a double and was the only Cards batter with more than 1 hit
- Zack Cox had a double as his sole hit in 4 tries
- Jim Rapoport walked once and was the only batter other than the pitcher, Schneider, to walk
- Matt Adams and Ryan Jackson combined to go 0-8
- It was a night of 4’s for Scott Schneider as he gave up 4 runs off of 4 walks and 4 strikeouts in 4 innings. Of course, he had to ruin it by giving up 5 hits
- Rainel Rosario and Adam Melker both went 2-4 (all singles) and were the only batters for PB to record multiple hits
- Domnit Bolivar hit a 2-run homer in the first
- Alan Ahmady walked twice and was 0-1
- Eric Fornataro hit 3 batters and gave up 4 runs off of 5 hits, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts in 5 innings
- Vance Albitz led off and went 3-5 with a double
- David Medina was 2-4, both singles. He also committed his 9th error
- Garrett Wittels and Philip Cerreto both were 1-3 with a walk. Wittels also committed an error
- Sam Gaviglio pitched a perfect inning
- Hector Hernandez relieved him in the 2nd and went on to post a strong line of 6 IP, 4 H, 1 R (0 earned), 2 BB, 7 K
- Gary Apelian hit cleanup, had 2 doubles, and finished 2-4
- Matt Williams went 2-4 with a double. He’s showing good speed on the year with 20 stolen bases and above average power for a shorstop, but is a tad old for the level at just turning 22
- Steven Ramos hit 9th and walked once. He was also caught stealing and went hitless in 2 at-bats
- Breyvic Valera had a triple as his sole hit and was also caught stealing
- Tyler Melling didn’t walk a batter in 5 innings but gave up 3 runs off of 6 hits (1 homer) and 3 strikeouts
- Brandon Creath and Willy Paulino combined to strike out 7 batters over 4 hitless innings out of the pen

Well, then again there’s ham string injuries but that’s it.

Been on the Hector Hernandez bandwagon since we drafted him…he is have a very good season. Will look forward to see him in full season ball against better competition next year.
