Posted on September 7th, 2011 by azruavatar in Quad Cities River BanditsThe River Bandits will take on the Clinton LumberKings who finished 2.5 games back of them in the standings. The LumberKings, a Mariners affiliate, will be the home team for game one and games two and three, if necessary, will be played at Modern Woodman Park in the Quad Cities.
The River Bandits went 10-5 against the LumberKings including a late season sweep during August 31st – September 2nd. Expect to see Taijuan Walker, one of the top teenage arms in the minors, get a start during the series against the River Bandits.

Just to echo the comments of others from previous threads, I’d like to thank everyone here at FR for their great work all season. You give your time—the most valuable commodity of all.
Prediction for tonight: Quad Cities wins 5-3, and Wong/Taveras combine for 4 hits, including a pair of doubles, score two runs and drive in three.
Good guesses! OT had 3 hits and Wong had 1, but none for extra bases. They combined for 3 runs scored, and OT drove in 3.
Good luck to Quad City tonight. Johnny Rodriguez has made an outstanding job since becoming the manager and Coach
Of the River Bandits.

Taijaun Walker is one of the few players that were in the Midwest League that I didnt catch. Dissapointed…sounds like he has some nasty nasty stuff.
Nice job by Taveras and JRod tonight… Lucas nipped a rally in the bud and pitched very credibly. Nice win.
J-Rod had a very good season. Statcorner has him at .393 wOBA and 27.4 bRAA, which was second best on the team to OT’s 37.7 bRAA (in 142 fewer PA). I don’t know what kind of upside potential he has, but overall he put together a nice year for QC.
He’s got to lower that 25% K rate I think to have a chance.
And vastly improve his defense……
Not to play in STL :)
