I sure hope not. Miller needs a structured promotion. There’s just no reason to put him in the majors this year. I don’t think we’ll need someone from Memphis in 2012, but, if it happens I’d be more inclined to promote Dickson or Kelly (a ground ball machine) – rather than Miller.

Good to see a good outing for Miller. Other than his command he looked good. If Miller can become a more polished pitcher he will be in the MLB this season.

Per the Scout.com Cardinals site on April 3 he has a forearm flexor strain and is on the DL. On that date they said he did not expect to have a lengthy downtime but would then need time to ramp up once he was cleared for throwing.

I have not seen any subsequent report on him.

Lynn has actually exceeded the number of innings he can pitch this good on the major league roster and will soon be called up to the all galaxy league.

I thought hernandez had better stuff than that 2nd tier of pitchers. He’s closer to kelly, gast, swagerty than the others you grouped him with I think, not to mention about younger than them. Whiting could end up in the same tier if he were healthy this year.

I haven’t heard what is up with Whiting, but I believe he did start the season on some sort of reserve list if not the DL – but I don’t know why.

Top 10 org pitchers? Miller, Martinez, Jenkins, rosenthal, Kelly, Sanchez, swagerty, gast, cleto, . . . I think you could put whiting, Hernandez, maness, Lyons, and any number of guys in the back end of that list with a straight face. I’m excluding Lynn b/c if he hasn’t exceeded his rookie innings count he will soon.
