Memphis put together a strong all around performance that culminated in a win. Springfield was dominated by a top pitching prospect and Allen Craig makes an appearance in a Palm Beach loss. Finally, Quad Cities has an offensive explosion but Mr. Jenkins didn’t need much as he pitched the team to his first victory of the young season.
Hitting:
- Adron Chambers went 2-for-5 w/ 1 2B and 1 R
- Ryan Jackson had himself a night with the lumber, he went 4-for-5 w/ 1 2B, 1 R and 2 RBI
- Zack Cox’s only hit in 4 AB was a double, he drove in one
- Pete Kozma went 2-for-4 w/ 1 3B, 1 R and 1 RBI
- Chris Swauger went 2-for-3 w/ 1 BB, 2 R and 1 RBI
Pitching:
- Joe Kelly got the start and was exceedingly solid: 6.0 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 1 BB and 4 K (GO/AO = 8-2)
- Adam Reifer (1 K), Chuckie Fick (1 H) and Jess Todd pitched one scoreless inning apiece
Hitting:
- Oscar Taveras went 1-for-4 w/ 1 2B
- Audry Perez went 1-for-3 w/ 1 2B
- Xavier Scruggs and Adam Melker each recorded a single in 4 AB, and for the sake of symmetry, they both stole second after getting aboard
Pitching:
- John Gast pitched 6.0 good innings, he gave up 8 H, 2 R and 2 BB while striking out 5
- Unfortunately for Gast, he was facing Jake Odorizzi who went 7.0 strong innings that included 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB and 11 K
- Justin Wright (2 K) pitched a perfect inning for the good guys
- Keith Butler got bombed in the eighth

- Michael Swinson went 2-for-4 w/ 1 BB, 1 R and 1 SB
- Allen Craig went 3-for-4 in his rehab start, we was penciled in as the DH
- Christopher Edmondson went 2-for-5 w/ 1 RBI
- Alan Ahmady went 1-for-3 w/ 1 2B, 2 BB and 1 R
- Patrick Elkins went 1-for-3 w/ 1 HR, 1 BB, 1 R and 2 RBI
- Ronny Gil went 1-for-4 w/ a solo shot
Pitching:
- Drew Benes was meh: 5.1 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 2 BB and 3 K
- Dean Kiekhefer and Chase Reid were not any better

Hitting:
- Nick Martini went 2-for-4 w/ 1 BB and 2 R
- Colin Walsh was efficient, he went 2-for-3 w/ 1 3B, 1 HR, 2 BB, 3 R and 3 RBI
- David Medina (1 RBI) and Jeremy Patton (1 BB and 2 RBI) both had a double to show for 4 AB
- Roberto Reyes went 3-for-4 w/ 2 2B, 1 BB, 1 R and 1 RBI
- Anthony Garcia went 2-for-5 w/ 1 2B, 1 R and 1 RBI
- Jesus Montero went 2-for-4 w/ 1 HR, 2 R and 2 RBI
Pitching:
- Tyrell Jenkins didn’t miss a ton of bats but was very good nonetheless: 6.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 0 BB and 2 K (GO/AO = 6-8)
- Kevin Jacob pitched 2.0 innings that included 1 BB and 1K
- Ethan Cole recorded 1 K in a perfect inning
