A double header in Quad Cities and Seth Maness takes the mound to extend a streak.  Those of you who chose Shelby Miller in yesterday’s strikeout pole were the winners despite his abbreviated outing.

Also, a brief two-fold request/reminder. (1) Things have been getting a little chippy in the comments lately. I’m okay with the occasional “elbow” but keep things in bounds. (2) Think about whether your conclusions are supported by the evidence. The next question should be whether your conclusion also requires an inference of information you cannot know. We have a lot of data about the minor leagues but over-reaching with conclusions is something that I’m seeing a lot of lately.  Always be a skeptic and leave room for doubt because nothing is set in stone with baseball and especially not with prospects.

Memphis vs. Iowa, 7:05pm – Nick Additon

Palm Beach vs. Fort Myers, 6:35pm – Seth Maness

will the cards make deal with Nats to retain Komatsu, then send him to Memphis ?

  2. zuke354 says:

Komatsu is nice player to have around. However, we do have an abundance of similar players.

I like Komatsu, but I’m really glad Robinson didn’t get sent down. He’s done more than I think any of us expected to see from him, and he’s earned that 5th outfielder spot.

Also nice to see Chambers picking it up at Memphis — up to .306/.384/.412 after yesterday’s game.

Wow Maness command is unbelievable 0 Walks in 27.0 IP. That’s really impressive. He needs a call to AA I think he’s ready.

  4. DT Flush says:

Jenkins is looking improved over last season. He looks more polished not just relying on the Strikeout.

I hope that K rate goes up. Most top prospects avg over a strike out per inning.

  6. Andrew says:

Struck out 7 in 5.2 innings. He’s working to develop as a pitcher using his off speed stuff. If he just wanted to blow guys away he could.

  7. Andrew says:

    BTW….

    Jenkins 5.2 innings, 1 run, 0 earned, 2 hits, 4bb’s 7k’s.

First hit wasn’t until the 4th and 2 of the 4 walks were in the 6th inning.

    Hector Hernandez had nothing tonight.

  9. Hugecardsfan says:

    Additon was even worse.

I have to say I will pay money to watch Bryce Harper. He might be a tool but the kid is incredibly special.
