It’s a bit of a mystery to me. I can state he isn’t in fear of AA hitters. He also says similar in a write-up over on MiLB.com I tend to believe he is working the edges to refine his command and more walks is the natural result – but that is just an opinion.

It saves him multiple pitches :) Plus it makes the other team think twice about digging in. Something I’m really liking about Miller now is he’s owning the inside of the plate and knocking guys down.

They don’t really give the gun reading much during the Memphis broadcast. Mentioned 93 on a strikeout. Despite not throwing 94-95 he gets a ton of swing and misses on his fastball. Painted the corner very well tonight. I also really like about him he will throw inside and knock a guy down. Throwing his sinker some which has excellent movement.

Is Rosie’s walk issue stemming from pitch selection (I.e. more breaking balls) or just nibbling due to fear of higher eschelon hitters? Any insight?

6 IP, 1R, 0ER, 1H, 3BB, 4SO, 10 groundouts, 3 flyouts and one line out – estimated 92 pitches (no gameday available). Run scored in the first on a 2 out 2 base throwing error on 3B. Flyball single to RF scored the run – AR Travelers broadcaster said RF apparently didn’t think the runner would try to score – there was still a play at the plate, but it was too late. BB’s still too high. The BB’s and the two errors kept him from starting the 7th. Rosenthal has also had occasional throwing problems to the bases, but today started a nice 1-6-3 DP.
