Looking forward to your recaps.. Good work on the draft so far. thanks.
This draft certainly has caused controversy for first year man Dan Kantrozitz. Let’s hope he doesn’t make as many rookie mistakes as Mozeliak did in his first few years as GM. So far I’d give him maybe a C+ on his draft choices. Some of which don’t really make sense. However, welcome to the Cardinal organization boys!
Having said that, I must admit being disappointed with the picks. There’s absolutely nothing scientific about my choices other then reading scouting reports, but here is my list of how I would have drafted the first ten players: 1. Chris Strattan – RHP – Better arsenal then Wacha. 2. Stryker Trahan – C – Molina isn’t invincible. 3. Travis Jankowski – OF – The thought of a lead off hitter with blazing speed gives me a bone-on for Whiteyball. 4. Walker Weickel – RHP – I’d be more comfortable if his first name was Strikeout. 5. Tanner Rahier – SS – With dreams of Cal Ripken Jr. 6. Carson Kelly – RHP/3B – There is so much to like about this kid and we’ll have lots of time to figure out how to use him. 7. Jake Barrett – RHP – What am I missing? Why did he fall so far? 8. Lex Rutledge – LHP – I like his solid package. 9. Josh Elander – C – Just have a feeling about this guy. Leader material. 10. Hudson Randall – RHP – In spite of his pretentious name.
My sleeper pick to reach stardom in this draft is Brett Wiley………no relation!
