And I really hope they leave him as a starter. He could potentially get to the big leagues soon as a reliever – and I mean really soon, like mid-season 2012 callup soon – , but the dude is a horse. Had 7 CG’s this year, practically without an offseason, pitching in the Cape Cod League.

What the heck, they’re making it sound like he’s a total finesse pitcher. He has filthy stuff. He had one of the higher strikeout totals in college baseball this year. He touches 94, and has 3 big league off-speed pitches. His slider has become just absolute filth, his curveball is a solid pitch, can be both an out-pitch and a get-me-over pitch, and his changeup, above all, is about as good as your going to find. Same armspeed, same mechanics, and it’s as if someone pulls a string on it when it’s 6 feet from the plate.
