I was able to see him play and he can hit and he has a very good idea of the strike zone, could be a good pick.

How many AAA Memphis players will become rule 5 draft players? Several Quad Cities, Palm Beach & Springfield players seem to give more “hope” for their teams. Watching college play super regionals and see players I would pay to see. Just enjoy running, bunting, good sliders, circle changes, fast balls and most of all, speed & defense. Sorry but more pitchers get injured pitching to six batters because of poor speed & no defense.

I wish we would start some of these guys out with some OF time early in their careers instead of waiting until they get to AAA and seeing they are blocked at 1B. It would seem easier to switch from OF to 1B at that point rather than the other way around.

I like his power 41 HR in his career at Tulane. He might be another Matt Adams will less power potential but more plate discipline.

The Cards may be redoing the Matt Adams shift, moving a non-nifty catcher to first.

With 4 years at a big time program like Tulane, Schaffer could hit well in the low minors.

Schaffer and #17 Perry have both signed already. I’m glad these guys will get a full short-season of ball.
