Jeffries with 3 BB good to see a young hitter showing some plate discipline like he did last night. Might be a sleeper in the 2011 draft. Heard he's got plus speed and good bat speed that will produce potential HR power down the road. Is that true?

Anybody have some inside info on just-turned-19 Juan Bautista? I know he's a righty, only around 5' 11'', but I vaguely recall a poster at another site saying Juan had pretty good stuff.

Anyone concerned about Oscar T.'s plate discipline, well, probably doesn't need to be. Since starting the year with one walk and thirteen whiffs in his first 90 PA's, Taveras has drawn 22 passes (4 intentional) and fanned 25 times over 200 plate appearances. (He stole his sixth base last night, without being caught, too.)

Castillo: 13/2 GB/FB ratio. I'm gonna go back to check, but I believe his real ratio in AA is between 4-1 and 5-1, rather than the MILB-reported 2.23-1. Either way, he's now 7-for-7 in AA, as far as Quality Starts go. He's cut his walks in half, not given up a homer in his 45 Springfield innings...I wonder how real this success might be.

I'm with you, jimmyjoe -- Lance Jeffries with the low key line 'o the day!
