Looking through Carson Kelly stats this morning:

After hitting .154 in June, he’s hitting .282 in July.

He’s batting .429 against lefties (28 ABs), .180 against righthanders (89 ABs).

.286 at home, .213 on the road

Oscar Taveras:

April .340
May .287
June .347
July .329

Home .340
Away .311

Looking through OT stats, there’s a whole lot of consistency.

James Ramsey is hitting .351 against lefties, .237 against righhanders (37 and 59 ABs, respectively).

He’s also hitting a lot better on the road (.328) than at home (.211).

Silfredo. Wow. And, not just because he’s named “Silfredo.”

I do think when Taveras arrives in St. Louis he will be full time player. No sitting against certain lefthanders to protect him. I have a hunch that next spring OT will head north with the with the big club. “If a dog’s mean, he’ll bite you when he’s a pup.” (Gotta quote Darrell Royal every chance I get)

Schaffer is a 22 year old college 1B with a 25/4 K/BB in the Appy League. Unless he’s going to go back to catching, what exactly is there to be excited about?

Regarding Silfredo Garcia:

49 K’s to 2 walks would be a 24.5 K/BB ratio.

Silfredo Garcia through 41 IP has only walked 2 over 49 strikeouts. That’s a 19.00 K/BB ratio.

Joe Cuda only projected at 5-foot-9 195 lbs. This season 7 starts 33.2 IP 2.67 ERA 5BB/27K 1.68 GO/AO ratio 55.6% groundball rate 20.5 k rate 3.8 walk rate.

Scahffer best tool is his hit tool the question is where does he fit defensively. This season .294 AVG .540 SLG 6 HR 29 RBI.

Taveras and his violent controlled swing now batting .328/.388/.585/.973. Taveras has also hit pretty well against LHP he is batting .310/.389/.509 4 HR 20 RBI 116 AB.

Rodriguez should develop more power down the road because of his plus bat right now he’s just very raw with lightning quick speed. Rodriguez this season .297/.376/.442 wOBA .377 134 wRC+ and his ISO has improved by a couple of points every season .145 this season. Those numbers are posted in the pitcher friendly FSL.
