With that said, it’s still very difficult to see him on this 40-man roster in 2013. It’s very possible he could be off it before the end of this season.

He’s fallen behind Adams and Craig on the 1B depth chart. Theoretically, he’d need Berkman, Craig, Adams, and Carpenter to go down before he would get a look at 1B in STL. Might be best to try and trade him to give him a shot with a team desperate for some 1B depth.

Lyons is a little old for his # of years experience but not many guys do what he is doing in their second year as a pro. He also has a great lefty split. Decent chance to see him in STL next year I’d think.

Haven’t we learned about harping on the BB rate with Taveras the last two years? Valera is just good and couldn’t be hitting .350 if he didn’t have a good out and know how to hit good hitters pitches.

Rich average fastball velocity for left handed is 88-89 I believe. Can’t. Really comment in Cooneys make up haven’t seen or hear a lot on him

Strauss also said in his chat last week that although it was being discussed internally, he would be surprised for them to make that move. I agree – is he really ready?
