    Predictions:
Shelby Miller and Tyrell Jenkins reminds us why they are top prospects with strong pitching performances.
Anthony Ferrara and Kevin Siegrist give glimpses of how they could be future back-end starters or reliable lefty bullpen arms.

I don’t think there’s any chance Ferrara or seigrist are starters in the majors. Please let miller have a good start tonight, lol

I think your really underrating Siegrist’s stuff. He actually does have solid stuff for a LH starter low 90s fastball with a 6-foot-5 frame he’s just needs to stay healthy. No need for the LOOGY title yet on Siegrist.

    May your predictions come true..

Man, Jenkins is having a bad year. Wow, with Shelby Miller’s struggles I guess I missed how bad Jenkins has been. Good thing we still have Martinez and Rosenthal.

    • DT Flush says:

Jenkins has been very inconsistent he’s raw but has unlimited upside/ceiling give him more time.

    • mike says:

jenkins wont be ready till like 2015 2016

      • RCHIII says:

Hell, none of them are ready. I’m not sure what sitting with STL is doing for Rosenthal unless they simply don’t want him pitching a lot of innings this year.

        • mike says:

he was best available internal option for bullpen they said

        • pitch and hit says:

I agree with you 100%. I hope they don’t do to him what they have done to a lot of young pitchers, throw them in the pen, FB,FB,FB, FB then when they want them to get back to using off speed they lack the confidance. Then send them down and go back to starting?

I know of a player who as a starter (second year AAA) was recently brought up to work the pen, not any pressure situation but just to get his feet wet and was the reliever in losing situations. He was used in a valuable trade. It was obvious that was the plan all along, but how they used him made much more sense than being thrown to the wolves.

What’s the plan for Rosie, sit for a week then put him out there when he really shouldn’t be in that situation to begin with? Do they even have a plan?
I just don’t get it, but I gave up a long time ago trying.

They could send him back to AA but more then likely he will go to Memphis and Blazek back to AA.

Unless they figured he would not be around to be sent back to the farm.

I feel for the guy I really do.

          • RCHIII says:

We don’t often agree, but we do here. When Rosenthal took the loss, he didn’t throw one offspeed – that wasn’t his decision, he isn’t shaking off anybody, nor should he at this stage IMO. He was ahead in the count both times. You have to at least let him show the pitch. If they aren’t willing to do that, then his development is going to flatten. If you are going to throw nothing but fastballs, then you better have pinpoint control – and even then you are playing with fire unless you are Motte and just aren’t quite sure where the ball is going and the hitter’s don’t either. Even Motte gives up dingers by using too many fastballs.

    Per Kary Booher

“Double-A Cards send RHP Michael Blazek to Triple-A Memphis. Hearing LHP Nick Additon on DL. “

  7. Karmaloop says:

Oscar Taveras just lifted for a pinch hitter after starting as a DH. Could he be promoted? Or was it injury related.

  8. pitch and hit says:

    That’s not good.

  9. mike says:

well nice to see shelby had a decent outing

  10. solar pons says:
