A few transactions to keep note have been made today.

Seth Blair was activated off the 7 day DL has been assigned to Palm Beach.

The southpaw with a low 90s fastball Kevin Siegrist will get another chance with Springfield he’s promoted to SPF.

Thats a boring group of pitchers, right there.

I’m not bored by Silfredo, yet. I’ve yet to hear a scouting report on him, but he’s posted high strikeout and very low walk rates along with an incredible go/ao rate. Of course, small sample size and low level league disclaimers do apply.

Has anyone read any report on his stuff?

All I’ve heard about Silfredo Garcia stuff is he sits in the high 80s and low 90s on his fastball also throws a change-up that produces a few swings and misses. Garcia is a polished pitcher with well developed breaking stuff at the lower levels he also has above average command. Intriguing pitching prospect.

I don’t think Gast is a boring prospect. Pickoffs are exciting, right?

Stat Corner has him at a 3.58 FIP. Fangraphs has it at 3.64. Either way, it’s about 1 run per 9 IP better than his ERA.

Plus he’s about 4 years younger than average for the PCL.

He seems to exceed expectations at every level. He could be our fifth starter or a long reliever as early as 2013. I think he’s one of our more underrated prospects.
