FWIW, the GCL Cards are in 1st in their division, 5.5 games out in front. They're tied for the second-best overall record in the 14-team league.

And the DSL Cards are over .500 at 34-30. They're already been eliminated from the playoff chase.

So, the bottom line:

Out of 4 full-season affiliates ...

1 (Memphis) is having a god-awful season due to injuries and underperformance by former prospects.

2 (QC and PB) are having mediocre seasons. PB is 55-66 for the year, while QC is 60-61. Not many real prospects on either team.

1 (Springfield) is in the hunt for a championship, thanks to strong seasons by top prospects. If Springfield wins its league title, that will mean Taveras has been on championship teams in 3 consecutive seasons.

Out of 4 short-season affiliates ...

1 (GCL) is in first place by a big margin.

2 (JC and Batavia) are over .500 and in the hunt for playoff spots.

1 (DSL) is over .500, with no chance for the playoffs.

I think the system overall is under .500, thanks mainly to Memphis (.373) having the worst record in a 16-team league and partly to PB for being 11 games under .500.

It only stands to reason: "The Quad Cities River Bandits.........got a long way to go to get the division title, but they are only 4 games behind the Beloit Snappers who are 4 games ahead of Quad Cities." I do believe the math is correct on this. I think it would be impossible to be anything else. LOL!!!!
