Eric Fornataro is having a solid season in his first season being developed as a reliever 54.2% GB rate almost half of his outs are coming from via the groundball 2.47 ERA 15.2% K rate 6.1% walk rate only 16 walks to 40 K in 65 IP showing solid control as well.

Fornataro has sat in the low-to-mid-to-high 90s on his fastball also mixes in a big loopy curve-ball with a big hook. It will be interesting to see the organizations approach with Fornataro's development in the next coming years ahead he's got good stuff for a reliever.

Interesting. Samuel Tuivailala has sit 94-97 consistently on his fastball also has mixed in a curve-ball as well this season. Lacks a third pitch and a lot of mound time it will take him a while to develop but he's making strides in his first season on the rubber.

Even if Rosenthal or Miller didn't give up any earned runs, I think Springfield probably wins a 3 game series. The Memphis D has been awful when I have paid attention, and the remaining Memphis pitching is questionable - not to mention with Adams out they don't have much pop either. JMO

No information on Rosenthal, but the last time they did this was before his 2nd stint in STL. We know he isn't hurt as somewhere Rosenthal was quoted as saying he didn't know why he was scratched. He isn't eligible for the call-up before Aug. 29th. If they make this move, I guess it is with Dickson going back down.

The Club may be looking for insurance with Lynn and Kelly. Lynn may have hit a wall. He pitched 164 innings in 2010, but only a few over 100 in 2011. I believe his is currently over 140 now. Kelly has pitched great IMO, but his innings are approaching over 40 in excess of 2011. In the meantime, Rosenthal's innings have been held down by doing a lot of sitting in STL, and when he went back down, his SP innings were also limited because of the sitting. Whether this "insurance" comes from Rosenthal or Dickson, I guess we will know soon enough.
