Odorizzi’s transition from A ball to the Texas League has been a bit of a mixed bag as his strikeout rate has dropped against better hitters in a hitter friendly league. Trevor Rosenthal will try to bounce back from arguably his worst start of the season when he was blasted for 9 hits and 6 ER in just 3.1 IP. Adam Ottavino will take on one of the Blue Jays top young arms in Kyle Drabek while Boone Whiting looks to make his 10th consecutive quality start for Quad Cities. Memphis will face former Redbird PJ Walters tonight when they play Las Vegas at home. Deryk Hooker returns to Springfield to start in place of Shelby Miller and a debut at Batavia. Just three games on the schedule for tonight — no highly regarded starting prospects will be on the bump. Maikel Cleto takes the bump for Memphis tonight. His walk rate in AAA has gotten a bit unruly including 6 walks in 6 innings during his last start. He’ll look to tamp that down tonight versus the Tucson Padres. |
