I’ve been absent lately – the day job gets busy during August & September – but that should change soon. In the meantime, the Quad Cities will play for the sweep tonight as they send ace Trevor Rosenthal to the mound. Rosie’s last start was a 9 inning complete game to shut out Kane County in the Division Championship.
Good luck to the River Bandits as they aim to bring home the organizations second trophy this year!

With the minor league season coming to an end for most teams. Let’s take a look at the pitching leaders for each team by tRA. (with at least 12 innings pitched) Numbers courtesy of statcorner.
The River Bandits will take on the Clinton LumberKings who finished 2.5 games back of them in the standings. The LumberKings, a Mariners affiliate, will be the home team for game one and games two and three, if necessary, will be played at Modern Woodman Park in the Quad Cities.
The River Bandits went 10-5 against the LumberKings including a late season sweep during August 31st – September 2nd. Expect to see Taijuan Walker, one of the top teenage arms in the minors, get a start during the series against the River Bandits.
From last night’s name at Busch Stadium, here is Carlos Martinez delivering a strikeout inducing fastball. (Please ignore my odd conversation and dulcet tones. I’m not home, so I can’t strip the audio track out of it. Sorry!) After the jump, one pitch from relievers Aiden Lucas and Justin Wright.
