Believe this or not I once knew a Alabama coach who measured length of fingers for point guards, quarterbacks, and pitchers. If a player handled the ball on every play or several times in a series of plays or downs the player had measured fingers. Other wise a player was limited to guard or tackle or left field and first base or low post on the court. He was a good coach cause he started measuring fingers when his kids were 6 years old. Just a thought in case Carp or Wain have long fingers-bet they do!!

I am a 60 yr old lover of baseball. Yes, I remember watching in awe of Musial. Mays, Aaron and many other great players. My point is that I consider myself above average in BB inteligence but after reading your "Prospect Primer" I am stunned with what I did not know about player evaluation.
Thanks.
