In my piece for Viva El Birdos on Sunday, I recapped a little of Tyler Greene’s history.  Prospect watchers will probably have been familiar with the term “prospect fatigue” and it’s connotative use with Greene but there’s another player this year — who likely has less of a shot at the major league roster right out of Spring Training — that I actually think of first when using the term prospect fatigue: Adam Ottavino.

Matthew Leach brings us the details of the Cardinals’ 40 man additions today.  The Cardinals add right handers Adam Ottavino and Chuckie Fick to the roster as well as left hander Sam Freeman.  Notably absent is David Kopp.

The Arizona Fall League is also known as “prospect finishing school”. You need only to look at the past couple of MLB All Star games and you’ll find each team is packed with AFL grads. As a rule, the dry air of Arizona makes for a hitter’s league, and for Cardinal players, the rule stuck. Let’s give out the grades.
